Rajkot Gurukul Saint Mandal 1 : Pulhashram Yatra

With the organization of Pulhashram Yatra by Gurukul Rajkot a group of saints from Gurukul Hyderabad under the supervision of Sadguru Shri Devprasaddasji Swami organized a Yatra to Pulhashram for Saints.  

Pulhashram for Swaminarayan Sampraday is the most significant pilgrimage where Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan as Nilkanth Varni performed an  

unmatching panence for four months, standing on one leg with both arms raised towards the skies amidst chilled ice mountains held above 17,000 ft over the sea level, in front of the Temple of Shri Muktinath Bhagwan.

 

The yatra involved all the pious pilgrimages lying in the way and way back home. Started on 6th May from Hyderabad, saints reached Nagpur. Visiting the Dhuvadhar and Bheda Ghat went to Chitrakoot via Jabalpur and visited Gupta Godavari, Ram Darbar, Sita Kund, Dhanush Gufa, Panchmukhi Shankar, Aashram of Atri Muni & Sati Anusuya, Kamadgiri, Bharat Mandir, etc. From Chitrakoot, saints visited Trivani Sangam, Akshyavad at Alahbad and went for Kashi to see the Kashivishwanath Temple and the ancient ghats of pilgrimage with their significance. 

From Kashi, moving via Gorakhpur, Sanouli, saints crossed the Indo-Nepal border and reached Pokhra at mid night. Enjoying the heavenly beautiful panorama of River Gandaki and Icy Himalayas with bhajan & kirtans, saints moved till Jonsom covering Beni, Galeshwar & Ghasa with the change of vehicles.

It was this morning everyone was eagerly waiting for, where saints started towards Pulhashram at a very early morning. In the dropping temperature between the mountains the cars were finding the way to Muktinath and saints counting the moments having darshan of that holy place.

Walking about a kilometer, after the car dropped, amid mountains all the sides, was the Temple of Shri Muktinath Bhagwan on 13 May 2009 at 8:00 am, had the darshan of Chaturbhuj Vishnu Bhagwan beside who sits Shrideviji and Bhudeviji. Sadguru Shri Devprasaddasji Swami followed by every other saints bathe under all 108 Chakrakar Dhara of Gandaki, where usually visitors generally can bath under maximum 10 Dhara.

Just adjacent to it in front of the Temple is the Chatri of Shri Nilkanthvarni, everyone felt most fortunate to have darshan of this place. Saints performed 11 Janmangal and Sadguru Shri Devprasaddasji Swami explained the significance of the pilgrimage. He said, “For followers of Swaminarayan Sampraday pulhashram is considered to be the most important and significant place of pilgrimage and we are very graced by Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan to have darshan of this place”. Everyone was lost in the remembering every little moment passed here as if collecting a very precious resource for whole life.

The panorama of Pulhashram wasn’t going aloof of these eyes and saints had to return to Kathmandu to have darshan of Shri Pashupatinathji and returned Ayodhya Swaminarayan Temple, crossing border, sanouli and Gorakhpur.

In Ayodhya, saints visited the Ram Janma Bhumi, Kanak Bhuvan, Ratna Sinhasan, Dashrath Mahal, Hanuman Gadhi and other places where Shree Ghanshyam Maharaj used to wonder and also had bath in Saryu River. Reached Chhapaiya, another remarkable place of pilgrim. In Chhapaiya, visited all the places of prasadi viz. Narayan Sarovar, Bhut Piplo, Gau Ghat, Patjiya Mahadev, Shravan Talavdi, Kalyan Sagar, Khapa Talavadi, Meen Sarovar, Trikoniyu Khetar, Bhutiyo Kuvo, Kalidatt Vadh, etc.

Saints stayed at Chhapiyah for 2 days with main interest of doing Bhagan. Everyone engaged himself in bhajan at the Janmasthan of Shree Ghanshyam Maharaj.

From Chhapaiya started for Badrinarayan visiting Naimisharanya Kshetra and Gomti River. With a continuous journey reached Badrinath at night and stayed a night at that cold temperature. Early morning at 3:30 am itself saints started for the Darshan of Shree Badrinarayan and had bath in flowing ice of river Alaknanda and taptakund. Visiting the Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, Bheemsheela, Birth of Saraswati river at Mana village returned to Hrishikesh. Visiting, Ram Jula, Lakshman Jula and having bath in River Ganga at Vedniketan Ghat, where usually Shastriji Maharaj Shri Dharmajivandasji Swami and saints used to bath during Satsang Shibir.

Taking, Gokul, Mathura, Vrundavan, the places of the leela of Shree Krishna Bhagwan, moved to Ujjain for Darshan of Mahakaleshwar Mahadev and visited Swaminarayan Temple Buranpur via Indore and concluded the matchless yatra. Saints completed 1 purushcharan of Janmangal with the initiative of Sadguru Shri Devprasaddasji Swami during the entire yatra.
